Matthew King
Physiotherapist
Matt joined Aspire in 2022 and brought with him a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and a never-ending commitment to learning. Matt graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2016 with Honours while working as an anatomy tutor and also completed his Diploma in Remedial Massage, so he definitely knows where everything is. Matt had successful stints in a couple of private practices prior to being offered what he described as "a once in a lifetime opportunity" to join the team at Aspire where he is thriving. Matt has since completed many courses delivered by leaders in various fields of physiotherapy and is one of our most senior physiotherapists.
Matt is a Central Coast local that lives with his wife and two beautiful dogs. He is a karate devotee with Black Belt Martial Arts (BBMA), which he credits as shaping him into the person he is today. Matt has taught Karate since the age of 15, growing as a student, mentor and as a teacher to thousands of students and their families. This has also provided Matt with an invaluable set of tools in communication, teaching, listening and understanding, empathy and patience that are wonderful attributes that we see in his physiotherapy work.
Matt has also taken himself out of his comfort zone. He enlisted as a Rifleman in the Australian Army in the ADF Gap Year Program after finishing school, which was as challenging as it was rewarding, further cementing Matt's values of respect and humility. On completion, Matt transferred to the Army Reserves whilst he began his Physiotherapy study. So with Matt's experience in the army while also being a black belt in karate, we suggest that you don't mess with him!
Matt loves solving problems and embraces patients with complicated presentations requiring detailed assessment, investigation and diagnostics. If you have a condition that requires the most thorough management, you will be in great hands with Matt.
