Diego Carreno

Physiotherapist

Diego joined Aspire in 2022 and with his welcoming manner and keen interest in hearing your story, he will shape your treatment to get you back to your best. Diego is a great listener and fantastic at explaining your condition in a way that you will understand so you will know exactly what needs to be done to fix it.

Diego graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours from the University of Newcastle in 2019. He has experience spanning private practice and both Gosford Private and Public Hospitals which has helped Diego develop broad skills in many fields of physiotherapy, so he is well equipped in the management of acute and chronic conditions, and everything in between. Diego loves continuing to learn and is forever reading research articles and listening to podcasts to further his knowledge and discover more ways to help his patients. He is a highly valued member of our team here.

Diego is a lifelong Coastie and lives with his wife, 2 young daughters and pup. Diego was born to Chilean parents and so he speaks fluent Spanish and grew up immersed in the South American culture of football… playing it, watching it, and unfortunately, getting injured by it. Diego has unfortunately ruptured and undergone reconstruction of his ACL in both knees. Fortunately for us and our patients, just like many of us previously broken down physiotherapists, the rehabilitation process sparked his future career path. Diego realised that the physical aspect of physiotherapy was important, but recognised early on that there is a very challenging and rewarding psychological aspect to what we do as well. This is what Diego is passionate about: he wants to help you get through your physical journey back to your best, but with caring and educated reassurance and motivation along the way.

Diego has a range of special interests and his warm nature alongside his skills makes him one of our most popular physiotherapists.
